Rooted in Culture and Protected by International Law
The Polynesian Union stands on the unshakable ground of ancestral tradition and global legal recognition. It is built from the values, ceremonies, and governance systems that have guided Polynesian societies for millennia. This movement is also firmly aligned with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which affirms the right of indigenous peoples to self-determination, autonomy, and control over their lands, economies, and futures.
Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future
For generations, Polynesian communities have lived in harmony with the ocean and land, guided by cultural practices that cherish sustainability and mutual respect. Colonization disrupted these systems, but it did not destroy them. Today, by blending time-honored leadership with international protections under UN law, the Polynesian Union is reclaiming sovereignty and setting a powerful precedent for indigenous peoples everywhere.
